Dress as you would for walking around town then bring an extra sweater/sweatshirt and a windbreaker with you. Also useful is a baseball type cap with visor, sunglasses (polarized are best), and sunscreen. Don’t forget your camera. If you’re “on the fence” about shorts versus long pants… go with the long pants.

Yes, you may bring along a snack or take out with beer or wine. Especially on the sunset trips people like to bring a bottle of wine. We do have a small electric cooler and bottle openers aboard the boat. We also have reusable plastic cups on the sailing trips but feel free do bring your own. On Elizabeth T we don’t offer cups please bring your own.

Our sails depart from Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor, only twenty minutes from Bar Harbor.
-
The sailing is actually pretty much the same. Both harbors open into the same bay we call Great Harbor. It is an area of calm water protected by the Cranberry Islands at the mouth of Somes Sound. The route is chosen by the captain, based on the wind and tide conditions but we always try to show you as many highlights of the area as possible. Both boats are traditional wooden Friendship Sloops. We recommend you choose to depart from the harbor where it is more convenient for you, such as closest to your lodging.

Yes, but it is very small. There are public restrooms on or very near the piers from which our boats leave.
-
Well behaved dogs are permitted on private charters. Out of respect for our other passengers, we do not permit dogs on shared charters.
-
You may cancel your reservation without charge up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure. If you cancel within the last 48 hours or fail to show up at boarding, you will be responsible for the full amount of the charter/cruise. Weather-related cancellations will be determined by the Captain. If your charter/cruise is canceled due to weather and we are unable to reschedule the trip to your satisfaction, you will not be charged.

Minke whales are occasionally seen but of course, we can’t plan any wildlife sightings. Finback and Humpback whales rarely come in close to shore here in Maine. Seals and porpoise are seen on almost all of our trips.
